ABC Takes First Place for TV Network Watch-Time

Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). With a 7.74% viewership share, ABC takes first place on the network ranking, dethroning CBS (7.29%) for the first time since early March. The NCAA women’s basketball championship game helped fuel watch-time on the network, with other top programming including Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir and American Idol.

A few more insights around the most-watched TV networks: 

  • NBC retains its third-place position, but saw a slight increase in watch-time, up to 6.28% from 6.00% previously. 
  • TNT and Food Network have two of the biggest week-over-week chart position increases, with the former moving from No. 18 to No. 11 and the latter from No. 20 to No. 16.
  • Week-over-week ranking newcomers include Bravo (No. 21), TLC (No. 24) and Game Show Network (No. 25).
