When Angry, 67% of People Respond With Internalized Frustration

Most people tend to keep their anger bottled up, turning it inward rather than expressing it outwardly, according to a survey from MX8 Labs. When anger does surface, it’s more likely to come out through words than actions.
- Internalized frustration is the dominant form: 67% of respondents internalize their anger.
- Verbal outbursts are the next most common: 35% report expressing anger verbally.
- Physical actions are rare: Only 12% express anger by doing things like slamming doors or throwing objects.
- Venting on social media is infrequent: Just 8% use social media to express anger.
