Spectrum Reach's new World Cup Sentiment Survey provides a look at how audiences are planning to tune into this summer's major event – why they're tuning in, and what they want to see.

Among the collection of insights coming from the report was a question arond what sort of coverage they're hoping to see more of, with pre-game analysis and game recaps leading the way.

  • 36% want to see more pre-game and post-game analysis, and 31% want more human interest stories from host cities.
  • 28% want behind the scenes content and player stories, while just 24% want social and cultural impact stories.
  • Spectrum shares that 66% of those surveyed are looking for coverage that emphasizes local connections to the World Cup (something that potentially gets easier with the tournament taking place in the U.S, Mexico and Canada this summer).
