For instance: Over the last 30 days, one of the hotter trends on YouTube – among U.S. creators – is paper crafts, according to Tubular Labs.

  • Paper craft videos amassed 58.3 million views in the last seven days – a 358% increase over the baseline for the topic (No. 1 among all video topics over the last 30 days).
  • Normally, paper craft videos average just 1 million views per day – versus nearly 5 million per day during this stretch.
  • Kids video giant Cocomelon was one of the major contributors to the trend, with a video on how to create a quick baby JJ craft collecting 27 million videos on its own.
