NBC Scores Major Reach for ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ Movie Ads
The trailer ranks No. 12 by reach across all ads and all industries from March 1 through April 8.
NBCUniversal isn’t just winning at the box office with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which premiered in the U.S. on April 1 — it’s also dominating TV ad reach, as NBC’s sports-driven programming has fueled massive scale for the campaign over the last few months.
Since first debuting on linear TV in late November, the trailer and its various iterations have racked up 1.76 billion impressions, according to iSpot. And not only that, its Super Bowl spot ranked No. 1 for likeability among all trailers that aired during the Big Game. A few more stats:
- NBC has accounted for 44.2% of total impressions, driven largely by the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl and NBA games.
- Looking at other top networks, CBS was a distant second (8.71% impressions share of voice), followed by USA Network (5.92%), Telemundo (5.83%) and MS Now (3.65%).
- Outside of sports, several flagship NBC shows have also fueled reach: The Voice, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.
