Players Make For Most Likeable NFL TV Ads

Advertisers effectively utilize NFL games for audience reach. But obviously brands need more than just eyeballs. They also need audiences to like the ads they're seeing run against games.

New data from iSpot's Midseason NFL TV Advertising Report shows that nine of the 10 most likeable football-themed ads this season featured current or former players/coaches.

  • The top four spots – from brands like King's Hawaiian, Taco Bell, Little Caesar's and Tide – all featured players.
  • Characters were also the Single Best Thing in top spots like Nationwide's "The Jingle Guy" (Peyton Manning) and State Farm's "Workout Bundle" (Derrick Henry).
  • Additionally, 72% of the 100 most likeable spots registered a score for "funny."
