Metro by T-Mobile Addresses Inflation with No. 2 Most-Seen Wireless Ad

In an era marked by growing economic uncertainty, Metro by T-Mobile is leaning into the moment with a national TV ad that directly acknowledges rising prices. The spot uses a clever visual metaphor: Everyday consumer products floating away on balloons (another nod to inflation), symbolizing how prices seem to be drifting out of reach for many Americans. That’s followed up by messaging about Metro’s five-year price guarantee, plus the offer of a new Samsung 5G phone.

According to iSpot, this ad (and a Spanish-language version) are the only Metro by T-Mobile spots that have aired on national linear TV since April 24, signaling a deliberate and focused message.

  • The English version of this spot has racked up nearly 1.2 billion TV ad impressions so far — making it the No. 2 most-seen wireless TV ad from April 24 through today. Parent company T-Mobile owns the No. 1 wireless ad right now with 1.9 billion impressions.
  • According to iSpot’s Creative Assessment data, the ad scores in the 89th percentile for relevance and 83rd for watchability.
  • 16% of surveyed viewers said the deal or offer was the “single best thing” about the ad, above the wireless norm of 10%.
  • One female survey respondent between 36-49 years old remarked, "The ad was fantastic in letting you know right away what brand was being advertised. The ad was unique and memorable in order to get their point across and had great visual imagery."
