Bounty Cleans Up For Linear TV Ad Breakthrough In June

Each month, market research firm MarketCast analyzes CTV and linear TV ads to reveal which ones are resonating the most with audiences. The rankings are based on ad breakthrough — how well viewers remembered the ad and correctly linked it to the brand. Here’s a look at the top linear TV ads for June.

The linear TV ads that broke through with audiences in June covered a diverse range of brands and industries, with Bounty leading the way. Two pet brands make the top five (Blue Buffalo and Purina), while human food was also on display with standout spots from Olive Garden, Wingstop and KFC.

  • Bounty achieved notable ad breakthrough at 42% above the norm in June, thanks to an endearing spot featuring cute kids, spilled juice and a robot costume. Blending humor, everyday relatability and clear product utility, the spot reminds viewers how Bounty can help tackle any mess.
  • With early summer the busiest time of year to get a dog, it’s no surprise a Blue Buffalo spot takes second place with an ad breakthrough 35% above the norm. The commercial takes a playful swipe at rival Purina (which also made the top five with +20% ad breakthrough), by pitting ingredient lists head-to-head.
  • Olive Garden stands out with an ad for its “Create Your Own Pasta” menu that claimed first place on the CTV ranking (+30%) and fourth on linear (+23%).
