What Are QSR Visitors Watching During The Summer? It's News
Summer can be a peak season for quick serve restaurants in terms of sales, yet it's not as easy to pinpoint where to locate potential customers when there's less tentpole programming on TV. During the NFL and NBA seasons, it stands to reason QSR visitors are watching those programs at a high enough rate (and the data says they are) to validate big ad buys. But what are they watching during the summer?
Data from iSpot serves up the big takeaways from QSR visitors' summer viewership, and it winds up that... they're watching more news than anything else.
- Eight of the 1o most-watched programs by QSR visitors from June 1-Aug. 10 were news-related, with the SportsCenter (No. 8) and the NBA Finals (No. 9 at 14.21% of the audience) being the lone exceptions.
- Fox News programs topped the list, with The Five reaching 18.08% of QSR visitors, Jesse Watters Primetime hitting 16.83% and Hannity reaching 15.94%.
- Despite the high QSR visitor reach for various Fox News programs (the network accounted for six of the top 10), just 11 QSR brand ads appeared on Fox News from June 1-Aug. 10 this year and the industry ranked No. 124 by share of impressions on the network in that range.
