This Holiday Season's Top Shopping & TV Viewing Trends

It's never too early for advertisers to get ahead of the holiday season, especially as consumers appear to start shopping earlier and earlier.
Data from LG Ad Solutions' recent report, Season's Streamings, goes in-depth on holiday shopping trends in the U.S., and how they correlate to CTV viewership. Understanding the link between the two can provide major advantages for brands – including how and where to get a jump start advertising holiday messages to consumers.
Among the top findings from the report:
- 71% of consumers plan to start holiday shopping before Thanksgiving – an 18% increase year-over-year – with 43% aiming to start in October or earlier.
- 86% of those surveyed expect economic uncertainty to create "some" or "a significant" impact on their holiday shopping budget, putting an even larger premium on price as a key driver of holiday sales.
- Among all CTV viewers, 89% plan to shop online on Black Friday, while 87% will shop on Cyber Monday (and another 69% will shop in-store on Black Friday).
