Reasons For Disney Box Office Optimism

Despite box office concerns around recent Marvel releases, The Walt Disney Company still has major theatrical movies to look forward to. Data from Greenlight Analytics reveals that Disney titles Avatar: Fire and Ash and Zootopia 2 are both performing well compared to other unreleased movies this year.

• Avatar is No. 1 in four out of five key metrics for Greenlight: Interest, theatrical Intent, willingness to pay, and premium large format (PLF) intention, while sitting at No. 2 in terms of awareness. 
• Zootopia 2 is in second place for interest, theatrical intent and willingness to pay. The movie ranks third in awareness, but fifth in PLF intentions.
• Both movies possessing awareness at 60% or above is impressive considering how far we are from their respective releases – with Zootopia 2 due out in November, and Avatar set for December.
