New Sonic TV Ad Picks Burgers Over Geography
Sonic Drive-In's latest TV ad keeps with its recent departure from in-car improv, instead highlighting its steak butter bacon cheeseburger – with a humorous song.
In the spot, a father is too busy thinking about the burger to accurately help his daughter on her geography assignment, leading to some predictably poor results on her homework. Using data from iSpot, AdAge notes that the ad accounts for 7% of the industry's TV ad impressions in the last 30 days, and 6% of the industry's est. national TV ad spend (with over $13.8 million already).
