The Land of Boggs Takes Off

BuzzFeed’s The Land of Boggs short-form video show has been around since 2018, but has really hit its stride lately, as new data from Tubular Labs reveals.

In May 2025, The Land of Boggs was the No. 11 media & entertainment channel on YouTube by unique U.S. viewers, finishing just ahead of better-known creators like Fox News, ABC News, Sesame Street and CNN.

  • The Land of Boggs saw viewers grow by 42% month-over-month, while minutes watched ballooned by 30%, to 105.8 million, despite leaning exclusively on videos that ran for less than 30 seconds.
  • The increased audience doesn’t come from an increase in uploads (relatively steady each month for the last couple years), but rather, just an influx of tune-in around the evergreen videos, plus goofy and simple characters. Top May video “Introducing My Introverted Roommate” earned 29.1 million views on the month, while another four videos hit at least 22 million views.

New videos delivered plenty of viewership, but the structure of the show – similar characters year-over-year and limited time-sensitivity – makes it an easy binge-watch with low required investment for audiences. At the same time, the dialogue does hint at elements of irony or truth, allowing it to rise above just simple “mindless” content to throw on in the background.
