How AI Is Shaping Consumer Deal Shopping

Consumer behaviors are shifting dramatically in 2025 as they contend with the effects of economic pressures, tariffs and the continued emergence of AI.
Wunderkind's latest report in its Consumer Impact Survey Series dives further into how consumers are being impacted by the current state of the economy, and how they're changing behaviors to adapt. From basic economic optimism to holiday shopping and AI usage, the data reveals significant adjustments in both consumer perceptions and actions.
Among the major findings within the report:
- 50% of U.S. consumers regularly or occasionally use AI to find better deals, and 38% of Millennials are using AI regularly, to lead all generations.
- While 30% of consumers expect to spend the same during Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year and 19% expect to spend less, another 17% expect to spend more during major holiday shopping deal days this year.
- Transparency is also helping build brand loyalty – 51% of those surveyed say brand transparency around price increases fostered loyalty (with over half of both Gen X and Millennials providing the strongest responses in favor there).
