Eagles Soar On Instagram During NFL Offseason
The Philadelphia Eagles' February Super Bowl win paid immediate dividends on social video. Data from Tubular Labs shows the franchise piled up Instagram video views from Feb. 10 through July 30 (the day before the preseason Hall of Fame Game), to claim yet another crown.
- The Eagles were far-and-away the most-watched NFL team on Instagram over the offseason, with 250 million views (on 173 uploads) – 127 million more than the No. 2 team, the rival Dallas Cowboys.
- Following up their Super Sunday defeat, the Kansas City Chiefs were No. 17 by Instagram video views, with 55 million (though they were also among just nine teams to upload fewer than 100 offseason videos to the platform).
- Interestingly, beyond Philadelphia, on-field success had limited impact on Instagram video wins: Just three of last year's playoff teams (the Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers) were among the top 10 by views during the offseason.
- Some teams were truly prolific posters, as the New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts all topped 270 uploads in the timeframe, while the Giants scored the most views of that group at 107 million.
