Celebrity-Filled Commercials Dominated Super Bowl, According to XR
102 actors, athletes, musicians, and content creators appeared in spots
The game itself might not have been too much fun to see, but the commercials in the Super Bowl gave celebrity watchers a lot to do.
According to XR, which manages payments for commercials, 102 celebrities appeared in Super Bowl spots, the most since the company started keeping records in 2020.
Of the 66 commercials that aired, 39 featured celebrities. Those celebrities included actors, musicians, athletes and content creators. Last year, 40 ads featured celebrities.
The big names included George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Emma Stone, Lady Gaga, Kendall Jenner, Peyton Manning, Matthew McConaughey, Kurt Russell, Octavia Spencer, Ben Stiller, Common, Mike Tyson, Puka Nacua, Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Guy Fieri and SNL’s Colin Jost and Michael Che.
A-list directors were also involved in the commercial extravaganza, including Affleck, Yorgos Lanthimos, Taika Waititi and Spike Jonze.
In the Super Bowl, 59% of the celebrity commercials featured actors and actresses, 17% showed musicians, 20% had athletes and content creators were in 4%.
