The following is a selection from Brandon Katz of Parrot Analytics.

As TV viewing gets more streaming-focused, the industry needs evolved metrics to evaluate long-term audience viability and programs' overall value to various services. Parrot Analytics' Pulse Metrics do exactly that, as the data below shows for Yellowstone's performance across key qualifiers like demand, momentum, travelability, longevity, franchiseability and reach.

  • Yellowstone is a top performer across the board, as evidenced by its high marks below, and its consistent presence among the top 10 U.S. streaming series by demand since first appearing on Peacock in 2020.
  • As another example, Netflix's Baby Reindeer has peaked as the ninth most in-demand TV series globally while Stranger Things has hit No. 1 overall several times. Naturally, this means the latter is generating more demand and viewership than the former.
  • But Baby Reindeer — which has been a slow-burn, organic word-of-mouth success — also costs a fraction of what Stranger Things does to produce, appeals to an older audience demographic, and the data is showing exceptional Momentum and outstanding Travelability.
