Who Is Watching Local Broadcast TV?

After surveying more than 60K Americans aged 25 and older, TVREV's new report – Local TV: Perils & Promise In The Age Of Streaming -- confirms some conventional thinking, while also providing some surprising findings.

  • Nearly two-thirds (63%) of those over 65 report watching local broadcast every day, with another 13% saying they watch a couple of times a week.
  • While 55% of those aged 25 to 34 either never or hardly ever watch local broadcast, 21% watch every dayand 14% watch a few times per week.
  • Income levels did not have significant impact on daily local broadcast viewing, as somewhere between 39% and 44% of respondents watched daily at all income levels.
