The Dodo is seeing its long-term social strategy pay off, according to new Audience Ratings from Tubular Labs. According to recent monthly findings, U.S. minutes watched climbed 35% month-over-month for the animal-focused publisher, hitting a one-year high of 212.5 million minutes in March. This new growth can be traced to some forward thinking from the publisher:

  • Higher watch-time also came with a big increase – 37% month-over-month – in U.S. unique viewers as well, as the Dodo’s long-term strategy of increasing video publishing is paying off.
  • After uploading about 170 Facebook videos per month throughout 2022, that rate rose well above 200 in 2023, and has averaged over 300 so far in 2024. With more of the publisher’s evergreen content available, there’s more animal videos (and especially more new ones) to watch once consumers are tuning in.
  • The Dodo’s most popular video – with uploads on both Facebook and YouTube – in March was about a crow named Russell, netting well over 35 million views.
