While food video consumption has changed significantly over the last 4-5 years, Bon Appetit has gotten through the ups and downs – as data from Tubular Labs shows. Along with remaining a top-10 food & drink creator by minutes watched on YouTube, Tubular found the following about Bon Appetit:

  • Bon Appetit was getting significantly more views and engagement pre-pandemic, but since mid-2021, views and engagement have been relatively stable for the publisher, with both metrics falling in similar ranges since that time (8-12 million or so per month).
  • Views and engagement seem to peak around the November to January timeframe in the last few years, as overall interest in food content is usually higher in this time as well given the holiday season and consumer hosting duties.
  • Overall in 2023, views were about 12% higher year-over-year, while engagement was 17% higher year-over-year.
  • Monthly views so far in 2024 have been in line with last year – Bon Appetit had 12.3 million YouTube views in January, 8.0 million in February and 11.3 million in March.
